Detailed Job Outline
Responsibilities
1. Make a central contribution to the product strategy and the expansion of the product range
2. Determine the feasibility from a technical, market, cost and product perspective of new product initiatives
3. Define product roadmap and work with product team to achieve delivery
4. Work in conjunction with peer Product Managers to ensure that the Fulfillment Suite works with other product suites to form a pre-integrated end to end OSS solution
5. Definition of requirements and functionality as well as solution packs that define how a product can be used to support the various types of service providers (fixed line, mobile, ISP etc) and product/service offerings (IP VPN, Voice, Data, Mobile, Application/Content) that our client wishes to target
6. Assist in marketing in creation of product messaging
7. Understand how the product is used by customers to achieve business goals
8. Development of metrics that quantify the business benefit of the product to our client's customers
9. Work with customers, professional services and partners to understand gaps in current product capability
10. With customers, professional services and partners to understand customizations, work-arounds or unique configurations implemented on site and determine whether these should become a part of standard product
11. Competitor analysis and positioning of the product against key competitors
12. Mapping of product to relevant standards including ITU and TMF
13. Support for product marketing activities requiring detailed domain and product knowledge and expertise including product launches, webinars, speaking at conferences and user forums, TMF catalyst initiatives etc
14. Support for strategic (typically Tier 1) sales/presales activities requiring detailed domain and product knowledge including input to RFP development and responses, detailed product presentations, participation in proof of concept
15. Occasional support for strategic (typically Tier 1) projects where the scale or complexity of the requirement demands specialised expertise. Such work will generally be billable and hence revenue-earning
Key Deliverables
16. Roadmap and high level functional specification for our client’s Fulfillment Suite (Provisioning + Inventory)
17. Business Case for development of functionality identified in roadmap
18. Content for product marketing pack including content for product brochures, product presentation slides, demonstration scenarios, case studies, white papers
19. Identification and measurement of quantifiable business benefits of the product to our client's customers
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. 5 - 10 years Fulfillment experience obtained working in a service provider, ISV or SI
2. Detailed knowledge of telecommunications networks (transport, switching, IP) and how these provide voice, data, internet, application and content services to customers
3. Exposure to IP and new generation services and an understanding of the operational challenges faced by service providers implementing these
4. Knowledge of and exposure to commercially available Fulfillment systems
5. Detailed knowledge of telecommunications business processes for Fulfillment
6. Working knowledge of associated telecommunications business processes that depend on Fulfillment including inventory management and assurance
7. Detailed knowledge of telecommunications products/services at both a customer and network level
8. Excellent interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to verbally communicate complex concepts and solutions to a wide range of audience in formal and informal situations.
10. Ability to understand and communicate the business benefit of the deployment of technological solutions in complex operational situations.
11. Working knowledge of TMF frameworks
12. Tertiary degree
13. Willingness to travel up to 50% of time
