Java Programmer

Our client is a leading developer of Financial Services Industry software. As a Java Programmer with at least 3 years of industry experience, you will be willing to move to the South Coast of Sydney. This role will suit a developer looking for a Sea Change while still connecting with high technology.

1) Advanced java programmer with outstanding core java (and standard API) knowledge who is proficient in the full range of J2EE API.

2) Must be proficient with the standard range of open source java libraries such as ant, junit, log4j and xerces.
3) Must be extremely proficient in XML and XMLSchema and have an applied knowledge of XSLT
4) Must have applied java knowledge of all base design patterns as outlined in Design Patterns-Elements of Reusable Object Oriented Software by Erich Gamma, Richard Helm, Ralph Johnson and John Vlissides.

5) Must have applied knowledge of UML and be able to model a solution from Use Case to Deployment Diagram
6) Must be proficient with some kind of domain model to RDBMS mapping framework (e.g. hibernate, apache OJB)
7) Must have worked with a major RDBMS (mysql, db2, oracle, sybase, postgres, informix)
8) Must have a passion for designing and coding great software solutions
9) Must have good communication skills

Desirable:
10) Desirable to be proficient on both Microsoft windows and a unix varient (unix/linux)
11) Desirable to have experience in the finance/super/fund management industry
